How to Clean and Care for your Platinum Collection
A Good Beginning...
The first thing to do before using your new stainless steel cookware is to WASH each piece thoroughly in hot detergent suds, to which 1 cup of vinegar has been added. Rinse with hot water and dry completely with a towel. This will remove manufacturing oils. After each use, good dishwashing rules are all that are necessary for everyday care of your cookware.
In case particles of food become burned in your pan, fill the pan with hot water in a hot pan, cold water in a cold pan, and let soak. The scorched particles should easily lift off. If a stubborn burn has been created, partly fill the pan with water and bring to a boil. Use a wooden spoon to remove such burned particles. If a stain still remains, it can easily be removed with a good stainless steel cleaner.
A blue or golden brown discoloration may appear from overheating a unit. Remove by using any good stainless steel cleanser.
Warp Resistant Units
Your stainless steel utensils feature extra rigidity and strength to prevent warping. Units hug the burner for maximum heating efficiency and will stay flat and in shape with proper care. Sudden temperature changes may cause any metal to warp, therefore:
- NEVER put cold water into a hot utensil.
- Heat utensils gradually, NEVER use high heat.
- Should a lid lock, simply reheat on medium for a few minutes.
